HISTORY OF " The Forgotten City (2021 Video Game)"
"The Forgotten City" is a critically acclaimed video game that was released in 2021. Developed by Modern Storyteller and published by Dear Villagers, it is a reimagining and expansion of a popular mod for the game "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim." The mod, also titled "The Forgotten City," was created by Nick Pearce and won an Australian Writers' Guild Award for its outstanding storytelling.
The video game version of "The Forgotten City" takes players on a time-traveling adventure set in an ancient Roman city. The game combines elements of exploration, puzzle-solving, and narrative-driven gameplay. It is primarily a first-person exploration game, where players uncover the mysteries of the city by interacting with its inhabitants and unraveling the secrets that have led to its downfall.
In the game, players find themselves trapped in a time loop where the entire city is doomed to be destroyed unless they can solve a mystery. The city's inhabitants are bound by a set of rules known as the Golden Rule, which dictates that if one person sins, everyone will be turned to gold. Players must investigate the lives of the citizens, gather evidence, and make choices that will alter the course of events, ultimately leading to different outcomes and multiple endings.
