history of "Assassin's Creed: Origins"
Assassin's Creed: Origins is the tenth major installment in the Assassin's Creed video game series, developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It was released in 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Set in Ancient Egypt during the Ptolemaic period, Assassin's Creed: Origins introduces players to a new protagonist, Bayek of Siwa. Bayek is a Medjay, a protector of the people, who becomes involved in a personal quest for revenge after his son's murder. As players control Bayek, they embark on a journey through Egypt, encountering historical figures and participating in key events during this pivotal era.
The game explores the origins of the Assassin Brotherhood, delving into the historical context and mythos that would later shape the organization. It introduces players to the conflict between the Hidden Ones (proto-Assassins) and the Order of the Ancients (proto-Templars), setting the stage for the subsequent games in the series.
In terms of gameplay, Assassin's Creed: Origins introduced several significant changes to the franchise. The combat system was overhauled, featuring a more hitbox-based system and a variety of weapons to choose from. The game also implemented a level-based progression system, allowing players to unlock new abilities and customize Bayek's playstyle. Additionally, the traditional "eagle vision" mechanic was replaced with an eagle companion named Senu, who could be used to scout areas and mark enemies.
